After eight successful years, Capitalize at the Clocktower returns to Ottawa and continues to be Ottawa’s biggest ski and snowboard event of the year.  A competition focused on overall impression based on style, consistency, and technicality; Capitalize is not a best trick contest.

Crew putting on the finishing touches

Athletes are invited to compete, along with a number of spots opening up to new comers each year.  Almost one hundred riders attend  this event and are split into five heats.  From those five heats, the top two snowboarders, top female, and top skier from each heat move onto the finals.

After a crazy five heats, the qualifications came to an end and it was now time for the finals.  DU Apparel managed to toss out some products in the short intermission before the finals which kept the crowd excited and wanting more.  The finals consisted of five skiers which moved on to compete for the top prize.  Philippe Clairoux and Carlo Mion being two of them brought some heat to the finals.  After twenty five minutes of non stop intense riding the finals came to an end and the podium was picked.

In the end, #teamdu took over the podium.  A big congratulations goes out to team riders Philippe Clairoux for taking home second place and Carlo Mion for taking home third.  Keep up the great work boys, and were excited to see your results this upcoming season!  Special thanks goes out to Tommy and Lefebvre and Halfcab for giving us the opportunity to help out with this amazing event.  See you there next year!
