Soulful, honest, passionate and entertaining, Philly Moves is one of Toronto’s most buzz worthy acts. They have achieved huge success on Canada’s college charts and have performed over 100 times across North America; playing some of the most prestigious festivals and sharing the stage with acts like Lupe Fiasco, Action Bronson, Mac Miller, ASAP Rocky and many many more.
They have achieved success in the festival scene; playing CMW, Bluesfest, NXNE, Indie Week, Under Pressure! COCA, etc., have a large following with the college/university crowd and have rocked sold-out club crowds both as a support act for established and rising stars and as headliners in their hometown, Ottawa, taking that city’s scene by storm and making the move to Canada’s largest market seamlessly in 2012. They were named Ottawa’s best band of 2010 and 2011 by a reader’s poll in both the Ottawa Metro and Faces Magazine and won Verbicide Magazines “reader’s choice unsigned band of the year 2010″. Since moving to Toronto their album, ‘How to Drink Yourself Famous’ was named ‘Best Rap 2012’ at the Toronto Independent Music Awards and they were nominated for best new rap at the 2012 Ontario New Music Awards.
The last 3+ years has seen them play well over 100 shows, touring Canada from coast to coast 3 times, and touring both the north east and west coast of the United States. In that same time, they have released 3 EP’s and 3 full lengths, 3 mixtapes, numerous singles and nine official music videos.
