The International Freeski Film Festival went down this past weekend in Montreal, Quebec.  Every year this event attracts and promotes the growing ski community and showcases some of the best professional and amateur films from the season.  A few of the DU members and a whole lot of the ski community including pros came out to show support for friends, riders and idols.  The Retro party started off the weekend with a bang the first night!

Many of us woke up early Saturday morning recovering from the night and washing that hangover away with water and free North Face grilled cheeses.  Cinema Imperial packed up and a whole lot of movies were played over a four day span, with too many to name, some of the highlighted movies were Level 1 Productions – Partly Cloudy, Brotherhood Films – Our Own Way, TwoBees Media – Clair De Lune and Poor Boyz Productions – Tracing Skylines.  A shout out goes to our friends at Brotherhood Films for winning the “Best Up-and-Coming Quebec Production” and to our homie Max Morello for making a debut in the Detroit segment of Tracing Skylines.  Get your hands on these films, you don’t want to miss out!

Ending off the weekend with the infamous rocker party on the Saturday night was how majority of the people topped off the best weekend of the year!

See you next year!

We had some shots left over from spring in Mont Tremblant with Phil Langevin. Coming in full throttle at the age of 11, we couldn’t let these shots go to waste! We are stoked for the bright future ahead of him!

Filmer Will Blackwell teams up with Josh Harris and sets out for an afternoon at Edelweiss. This is what they came up with.

Song: Step by Step – Method Man

Even though the weather wasn’t cooperative which resulted in getting hammered with two days of rain and far from ideal jumping conditions.  Will Blackwell and Austin De Ste Croix set that all aside and went out for a day and filmed a new day edit!

Two nights after filming, Ghostface performed in Whistler, Blackcomb.  Overall, he put on a great set and Austin managed to battle his spot at the front of the stage the entire night.  Ghostface then opened up with Austins favourite song, which happens to be the song in this edit.

Hey guys!

First blog I’ve ever done, so I figure I’ll just give a little update of whats been happening in the world of A-town.

Recently, the media man Will Blackwell came out to Whistler for a week and it was great time catching up.  We managed to bring the camera out for one day and got alot of shots in my new hoodie provided by the homies! Although, I would have liked to film more jumps, the weather wasn’t cooperative which resulted in getting hammered with two days of rain and far from ideal jumping conditions.

Getting Shots for a New Day Edit

This week is going to be a little different for me, I am going to be competing in the Canadian Shield slope style comp at Mt. Seymour.  I am hoping the rain and fog calms down and we get some sun for the contest.

For now thanks for checking up on what I have been up to, and expect a new day edit dropping your way!

Peace
